Tell me I'm not alone...

This is a "clean" room according to a 12 year old boy.

His ledge that functions as his nightstand. It's now completely empty except for his alarm clock and his trophies.

Contents of his pillowcase. Yes. That's my Flip Video. Where the Halloween candy has been hiding, I don't know. I do laundry, including pillowcases regularly. Hmmmm...

Under his bed. In his "clean" room.
Well, he was gone to a friend's for the weekend. After debating going to get him, I decided that me cleaning for him would be punishment enough. I was right. His room is empty except for the Lego bin and the Erector set. He nearly fainted last night when he got home. Jason and I are hoping next time he's told to clean his room, he actually does it. Of course, it couldn't take too long now- there's nothing left! LOL!
(I really hesitate to post these pictures out of sheer embarrassment. Sheesh... Be kind in your comments... )

Well, it's no-where near as bad as my bedroom usually was when I was a teenager...I'm quite sympathetic regarding messing rooms; some of us just have trouble noticing the mess :-)

So not alone...one can't even SEE the floor in my 13 year old's room and that's typically AFTER it's been "cleaned." The last time I told him to clean he refused. I went in with a trash bag & did it for him. ;-) EVERYTHING went in that bag. It felt wonderful - for me!

You are alone. Nobody else with children allows any part of their house to get like that. Ha!

Linlee and Rhys could have a competition to see who could make more clutter. Seriously.

Of course you are not alone. I'm totally avoiding the boys rooms. They are just as bad, I promise. I have to make Luke crawl under the bed to push things out and it takes him forever. That's how much stuff is under there!

Hello, I spent TWO days--from morning coffee through take out for dinner--cleaning Bailey and Hannah's room last month, after which I seriously considered signing the 12 year old up for therapy to address hoarding and/or kleptomania. So been there. BAGS of trash came out. They never even notice how much is missing.

Nope, you're not alone!! My daughter's room looks just like this! I can empathize with Jamie, in that I have taken out several bags of trash out of their rooms! And we're not talking about a couple of wads of paper! I don't know what else to do...if I don't go in there and clean it myself, it doesn't get done. I'm at the end of my rope!!

I just cleaned the playroom and there were at least 30 candy wrappers underneath the seat cushions! My poor vacuum needed to be cleaned out! You are sooooo not alone!
