See what George can do...

Brennen had another "see what I can do" day at gymnastics today.

Waiting to demonstrate his amazing skills....

Showing off his "tripod". This happens to be one of George's preferred stances throughout the day.

Here he shows how to flip over the bar. George's buddy, Zeb, is next in line. The last little boy needs a bit more assistance, which George assures me is par for the course!

A "Big Girl" Gymnastics Meet

Our trip to Spokane was timed so we could go see the Ongoing Debacle's gymnastic meet in Couer d' Alene. Kjersten was impressed with Hannah, Bailey, and all the goings on for this meet!

Who knew, Jamie does hair!!! It was rather impressive. Kjersten fell in love with the spray sparkles they use for competition hair.

Cael hid in the living room with Don. Too much hairspray. Too many sparkles. Too many girls!

Of course, my camera (and/or its operator) is not capable of taking action shots indoors. So, this is what I did manage to capture. Cael. Good thing he's so cute!

Kjersten's Mini-Meet

Kjersten's gymnastics mini-meet came at the end of a ridiculously long week... Yet, she still was thrilled to be there and did very well. Grandpa Tom, grandma Barb, Rhys & I were there to cheer her on. The purpose of these meets is to give the kids a chance to show what they've learned and to give some experience performing in front of others.

She doesn't look nervous, does she? She claims she was.

On the beam.

The girls were to do a somersault on the beam. Not sure why this was part of the meet. Not one of them could do it without some help. But, they certainly tried and did very well!

The girls get judged on each event (floor, bars, beam and vault). For each event they get a score and a ribbon for participating. She LOVES those ribbons!

Way to Go, Kjersten!!!!

She did it!!! All that constant practice around the house paid off. She's in Level II now! Kjersten has worked so hard on her cartwheels (keeping legs straight and being able to start with either leg) and her handstands. We're very excited for her.

Very soon, her friends will move up and she won't be alone on her new time & day.

(Yes, you read that right. She has gymnastics on a new day. That means that Brennen and Kjersten have gym on different days. Argh! Karate: three days/week. Guitar: one totally different day. Gymnastics: two days/week overlapping once with guitar and once with karate. What's going to happen when baseball starts in the spring?!?!)

1st Gymnastics Meet

Kjersten, Aspen, and Hannelora.

Of course, I'm opposite of where she lands... Grrr... She was first to go at each event so I never did get good pics of her actual events!

I can only imagine this is harder than it looks. Makes me laugh to watch the girls practice this as it looks ridiculously simple to me.

Getting ready for her spectacular cartwheel.

It was fun to watch her actually perform. When she's in class, she's either too far from the window for me to see or I'm too busy chatting (imagine that?!) to see what she's learning. My only exposure is when she's somersaulting across the house.
